This year's Service Users' Conference was once again a huge success! Over 300 service users and staff arrived for the conference which this year was themed 'Around the World', as chosen by service users. Flags from different countries adorned the walls of Lilliputs in Havering, together with a themed buffet lunch comprising of food from Mexico, Thailand, Japan, America and India amongst other delicious dishes.

Each year, the Service Users' Conference is planned by service users from across CMG to include a variety of activities and workshops for everyone to take part in. This year the ever popular 'CMG's Got Talent' show was back, followed by an open forum 'Have Your Say', where service users have the opportunity to voice their opinions and give feedback on CMG and their services.

Other activites running throughout the day included a 'Be in a Band' workshop, advice on employment from Pure Innovations, a Total Communication kitchen, various competitions, arts and crafts sessions, outdoor sports activities and beauty sessions.

The day ended on a high note with a DJ session by Davot from Kings Road, and in the marquee service users from Charmandean Road and Hawthorn Crescent, who have formed their own band "The Yeah Yeahs", teamed up with the 'Be in a Band' workshop to have a jamming session!

Service users and staff alike enjoyed the day, saying:

“I like meeting other residents at the special conference.”

"What a wonderful event. This is the first one I have been to and I am already looking forward to the next one. The people we supported to go this year, also their first, really enjoyed it. Thank you CMG."
