New Service for Harrow Residents

CMG Press Release
30th June 2010

Service users in the Harrow community celebrated the opening of their new service in style last week, as they cut the ribbon with Gareth Thomas MP, to officially open South Hill supported living service.

South Hill will provide specialist support to 13 adults with moderate learning disabilities and mental health needs. The service is run by CMG.

Service users at South Hill will be supported to take more control over their lives including choosing their own support staff, increasing their independence through education and employment opportunities and being at the heart of the local community.

The day of the opening was a great success, with Mr Thomas MP invited as the guest of honour. One of the new tenants wrote and delivered a speech to mark the occasion. Guests were then given tours around the service, and had the opportunity to chat with tenants and their support staff.

Talking at the opening, Gareth Thomas, MP for Harrow West, said:

“It is an honour to have been invited to today’s ceremony.

“It’s fantastic to see such good things going on in the local community and I welcome the opening of South Hill in Harrow.”

Speaking on the day, Peter Kinsey, Managing Director of CMG said:

“It has been a wonderful opening and we are delighted that Mr Thomas could join us to see our new service and to meet everyone who has chosen to support them.

“South Hill provides up to 24 hour individualised support for people aged 18 and over, is in a fantastic location, and we are looking forward to the continued development of this service in conjunction with all our current and future tenants.”
