"My daughter suffers from mild learning difficulties and an enduring mental health problem.
She has been a tenant in a house owned and managed by Care Management Group Limited since the summer of 2007. She had spent most of the previous two years in psychiatric hospital. By the end of this time, her psychiatric problem had been brought under control with the help of medicine.
Her long stay in hospital had greatly lowered her morale. In the fifteen months since her discharge this has greatly improved. This improvement is due to a number of factors: the continuing efficacy of her medication, strong support from her family, whom she visits regularly and who have arranged for her a good programme of activities outside the house; and good work by CMG. The balance between support, care and independence that she enjoys as a tenant in her CMG house is just what she needs.
The location of the house, in a quiet, well-maintained but not expensive suburb of London is very good. The house itself was also well chosen by CMG: it is large enough to house 9 tenants, which is a good number, not too many and not too few, for developing a sense of community among staff and tenants. The house has been well adapted for its purpose, and the standard of accommodation, both in the individual self-catering studio flats and the communal rooms, is high.

The level of staffing permits tenants to be supported in activities out side the house, something that is very important for my daughter who likes an active life. But the management and staff also encourage and facilitate activities within the home, such as drama and cookery.
The management and staff workers of the house are experienced, responsible, caring and conscientious.
CMG’s Head Office staff carried out the initial assessment of my daughter as a possible tenant with competence and sensitivity. Together with the management of the house, they have done their best to ensure that the tenants recruited for the house are mutually compatible.
I am much involved in helping my daughter to build up an active life outside the house, such as drama, photography and part-time, unpaid work in a beauty products store, and have found the management and staff of the house very co-operative in this respect. They have also responded well to requests for her mother and me for support in other matters relating to our daughter’s welfare”.
